High-Capacity MRT Driving Simulator | Taipei Metro × AIDC
Axis3D developed a high-capacity MRT driving simulator for Taipei Metro, from full-line data collection and 3D modeling to virtual scene integration. The platform provides realistic training, enabling drivers to practice operations safely in simulation and reducing real-world error rates.
Client Background
Commissioned by AIDC (Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation), this project supported the Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei City Government, in developing a next-generation MRT driving simulator for Taipei Metro’s high-capacity rail system.
Client Needs
The Department of Rapid Transit Systems sought a simulator replicating the full Taipei MRT line with high-fidelity visuals and support for ATO, CM, and RM modes to improve driver training efficiency and reduce costs.
Our Solutions
Axis3D developed the visual system and 3D integration for the simulator, including:
Full-line environment survey and terrain data modeling
High-quality visual assets and 3D content production
Virtual scene integration and interaction via Virtools
Realistic simulation for ATO/CM/RM operation modes
Visualized training process with real-time feedback to improve driver proficiency
Outcomes
The simulator allowed new drivers to practice routes and operations in a risk-free environment, strengthening safety and responsiveness. It effectively supported Taipei MRT’s training programs and standardized driver development.
