Discovery Beluga Exhibition | National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium
The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium presented Discovery Beluga, an interactive exhibition by Axis3D using animation, interactive devices, and holographic projection to showcase beluga traits and convey a forward-looking conservation message.
Client Background
The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium is Taiwan’s first museum dedicated to marine education and ecological display. It has long promoted marine knowledge and conservation, actively adopting technology-driven exhibitions to enhance public engagement and experience.
Client Needs
To support beluga conservation and align with non-living animal display trends, the museum sought to create an interactive technology-based exhibition that highlights the beluga’s unique traits and behaviors. The goal was to replace traditional live displays while enhancing education and conservation awareness.
Our Solutions
Axis3D designed a range of interactive exhibits:
Created three unique virtual belugas, showcasing their appearance, personalities, and habits
Used 3D animation and environment modeling to build dynamic, immersive scenes
Applied holographic projection and multimedia devices for engaging displays
Integrated interactive flow design to foster emotional connections and strengthen conservation awareness
Outcomes
The exhibition presented beluga knowledge in a fun, immersive, and non-intrusive way, receiving positive feedback from families and educators, and serving as a pioneering model for transforming traditional animal displays.
